At Suzy’s Freight, we strongly believe in the power of community outreach and donating to charitable causes. We want our community to grow alongside our business and we try to offer as much help as we can. Suzy’s Freight is a family-owned and operated shipping and retail business in Calgary and our Jamaican heritage and values drive us to give back to the community as much as possible.
Through our charitable works, we were able to ship 21 barrels of community relief supplies to St. Vincent and the Grenadines after the recent volcanic eruption in early 2021. All our volunteers and family members worked tirelessly at our warehouse to pack and ship much-needed supplies to help with the emergency relief operations being conducted. We only charged for the barrels cost to cover the expenses of transporting the relief materials to Toronto and then shipped the supplies free of charge to the SVG relief cause.
We also regularly engage in community outreach programs and are currently working with Senkosa, Act Rescue and the Calgary Police Department to carry out more community support programs locally. We recently partnered with the JCAA (Jamaica Canadian Association of Alberta) to raise funds for their community initiatives and are one of the sponsors for:
The Community Backpack Program
The Benevolent Fund
The Scholarship Program (Because of our level of support, we are currently featured on their website)
If you are a charitable organization in need of support, don’t hesitate to reach out to us, and we will try and support you in any way we can.
